Frequently Asked Questions
About Your Visit
Can I book a cleaning without seeing a dentist first?
Yes. We provide direct dental hygiene care, so a dentist referral is not needed to book a cleaning or hygiene visit with our clinic.
What happens during a hygiene visit?
We review oral health concerns, check the teeth and gums, remove plaque and tartar, polish the teeth, and share practical home-care guidance.
Is the clinic suitable for nervous patients?
Yes. We work in a calm, personal setting and take time to explain each step clearly before moving forward.
Do we replace the need for a dentist?
No. We provide dental hygiene care. Dentists are still needed for exams, diagnosis, X-rays, fillings, and other dental treatment.
Can we guide patients if something needs a dentist?
Yes. If we notice something that should be reviewed by a dentist or another healthcare provider, we explain it clearly and recommend the next step.
Fees and Insurance
How are hygiene fees decided?
Hygiene fees depend on the care needed, appointment length, buildup level, and services provided during the visit.
Is dental hygiene covered by insurance?
Many plans include hygiene coverage, but every insurance plan is different. We provide receipts and service details for claim submission.
How much does myofunctional therapy cost?
Our current myofunctional assessment fee is CA$200. Therapy sessions are currently CA$165 per session, and the final plan depends on assessment findings.
Is myofunctional therapy covered by insurance?
Coverage depends on the insurance provider and plan. We provide documentation, but reimbursement is decided by the insurance company.
Where can I see full myofunctional therapy pricing?
We explain assessment fees, session pricing, program ranges, and insurance details on the Myofunctional Therapy Cost page.
Myofunctional Therapy
What is myofunctional therapy?
Myofunctional therapy is a program of guided exercises that supports tongue posture, lip seal, breathing patterns, swallowing, and oral muscle function.
Who do we support with myofunctional therapy?
We support children, teens, and adults with concerns such as mouth breathing, tongue thrust, low tongue posture, snoring habits, poor sleep patterns, and orthodontic relapse.
Do we treat sleep apnea?
No. We do not diagnose or treat sleep apnea. Sleep apnea must be diagnosed and managed by a physician or sleep specialist, while our role is supportive myofunctional therapy.
Can myofunctional therapy help with snoring?
Myofunctional therapy may help some patients improve tongue posture, oral muscle tone, lip seal, and breathing-related habits that can be connected with snoring.
Do we diagnose or release tongue-ties?
No. We do not diagnose, treat, or release tongue-ties. A dentist, ENT, or physician handles that care, while we may provide myofunctional support before or after a release when appropriate.
Is a referral needed for myofunctional therapy?
No referral is needed to book a myofunctional therapy assessment. Some patients come directly, while others are referred by dentists, orthodontists, ENTs, or other providers.
Booking and Policies
How can I book an appointment?
Appointments can be booked online through our booking page. We keep the process simple so patients can choose the right visit type and provider.
Can I book by provider?
Yes. Our booking setup can include provider-specific options such as Joe, Brianna, and Evelyn once each booking path is active.
What should I book first for myofunctional therapy?
We begin with a myofunctional therapy assessment. This helps us review concerns, oral habits, breathing, swallowing, and muscle function before recommending a plan
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
We ask patients to follow our cancellation policy so appointment time can be managed respectfully for our clinic and other patients.
How can I contact the clinic?
We can be reached by phone at (416) 233-1286, or patients can use the contact page for clinic details, hours, directions, and booking information.
